Gandhiji is not father of the nation

Mahatma Gandhi is known as "father of the nation(Rastrapita)". But, is it true? Well, no. You read it right. Unfortunately he is not the FATHER OF THE NATION officially. But how?

According to government of INDIA, there is no document stating with that Gandhi was conferred with any such TITLE. This title is not dependent on the official records. This was the disclosed by the government after a 10 years old girl, an ardent follower of Mahatma Gandhi's principles, filed an RTI out of curiosity.

Now your next question should be who gave him this title and where did it come from? Dr. Subhash Chandra Boss used that title in 1944 on the Radio in Singapore. Sarojini Naidu used that title "Father of the nation" while some announcements. Jawahar Lal Nehru used that title after dead of Mahatma Gandhi. He announced that "father of the nation" is no more. We accepted that title from Nehru's words for him "father of the nation" , In fact it is illegal to give someone titles like that. Indian Constitution does not allow such any title under article 18 it states that "No citizen of India shall accept any title from any foreign state".

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on 2 October, 1869 at Porbandar in Gujarat(India). His birthday is commemorated world-wide as INTERNATIONAL DAY of NONVIOLENCE. Mahatma Gandhi left home to study LAW in London at the age of 19. He was Nominated for the Nobel peace prize 5 times and named time magazine's "Man of the Year" in 1930. Mahatma Gandhi's hunger strikes and message of nonviolence helped to Unite the whole country. Mahatma Gandhi was the first in human history to extend the principle of nonviolence from the individual to social and political plane. Mahatma Gandhi fought not only for independence but for women welfare, against caste system and Untouchability. Mahatma Gandhi created us to know how works that the reality of peaceful attitude. Actually it is not an object of less power. Peaceful nature is a weapon that can be used by anyone.

During his movement, he walked around 18 km everyday nearly for 40 years. Gandhi ji was very famous while independence. He was the face of nation at that time.
