Kohinoor, The most beautiful and valuable diamond. It is believed, this diamond have the history of more than 5000 years old. But one interesting fact about this diamond is it has never been SOLD to anyone. Whether it has been Stolen, Robbed, Looted or Gifted.
Since Babur started dynasty, then Kohinoor came into the hands of Mughals, it stayed there over 200 years. Shahjahan placed precious jewel into his peacock throne. Kohinoor was originally 793 carats diamond. Aurangzeb gave the Kohinoor to Hortenso Borgia(a Venetian lapidary) to re-cut. Because of his unskilled handling he reduced the diamond into 186 carats. He was punished but in real he destroyed the real beauty of koh-i-noor.
In 1739 , Delhi was invasion by Nadir Shah. He was shah of Persia, this time Kohinoor was looted by him. After Nadir Shah's assassination the ownership of Kohinoor was given to founder of Sikh empire Maharajah Ranjit Singh by Shuja Shah Durrani in 1813, 1849 was the year when British empire won war from Sikhs. They transfer the diamond to Britain.
Prince Albert didn't like the cut of diamond. Kohinoor was sent to rebuilt. In this restoration it was reduced from 186 carats to 105 carats and became the crown jewel of British Royal Family. It is 105.602 carats diamond but every that person who tried to get this beautiful diamond , get destroyed with it's life, Whether he lost his empire. Some who got this diamond lost their life. Even it happened with east India company as well. When this diamond gifted to Queen Victoria, after that almost all countries those were slaves of east India company got independent.
The Kohinoor diamond has not ever been available for public safe. But according to other estimates it is believed that starting cost of the Koh-i-noor in auctions is over $1 billion dollars and there is no clue of its ending prince. So it is one of the most valuable, precious, historic and expensive jewel of the world.
